Community CVS is a proud partner of the Borough Council’s Your Community Your Call campaign. We are helping to build the movement Your Community Your Call in partnership with the borough council by connecting people and growing communities.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has always invested strongly in developing vibrant and resilient communities. The Your Call campaign has seen large numbers of local residents plugging the gap in environmental services and getting involved in regular clean ups and other environmental activities. This investment has also resulted in delivering training to local residents to enable them to take over and manage local community centres and buildings. Community CVS is supporting the council by providing infrastructure support to volunteer-led community centres and organising social action, for example canal clean ups.
Next phase
The next phase of Your Call is focusing on growing the number of volunteers to provide more targeted and personal support to children, families and adults in need of additional support. Community CVS is providing support to develop a volunteer infrastructure to add value to the work being carried out by public services. We are proud partners of the Lancashire Volunteer Partnership.
