At Community CVS Volunteer Centre, we aim to build a strong and resilient volunteering environment in our communities. We want to provide any support that can improve the quality and experience of volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations from all sectors in Blackburn with Darwen and adjacent areas.
We help people to find volunteering roles which enable them to use their talents and interests, meet new people and help out a range of great organisations through our brokerage service. We also provide training for both new and existing volunteers, enhancing their skills and providing them with the information they need to volunteer to the best of their ability.
We help people affected by worklessness or other difficult life circumstances enabling them to develop their confidence, self-worth, recovery and employability through volunteering and our volunteer training programme.
We help local organisations by showcasing current volunteering opportunities and assisting them in developing new roles for volunteers. We also provide training, networking opportunities and useful resources for volunteer managers and volunteer coordinators, enabling them to share good practice and develop their skillsets.
We also raise awareness of the Value of Volunteering and issues which affect volunteer-involving organisations.
We are proud that our Volunteer Centre has been, for many years, the NCVO-accredited Lead Volunteering Organisation in Blackburn with Darwen – we are one of 220 accredited Volunteer Centres nationwide delivering the 5 core functions of Volunteer Centres and volunteering-related services for the Borough.
