Can you spare just four hours per month (outside of school hours)? Do you want to help improve the lives of local children?
Blackburn Independent Visitors & Mentoring Services (a collaboration between Barnardo’s and the Borough Council) need your help.
They are looking for volunteers to offer a few hours of their free time to spend with a young person (be it weekly, fortnightly or monthly).
The role is to befriend a young person, help them to engage in positive activities based on their interests, and act as a positive role model to them. This would be on a long term basis to allow the young person to form a long-lasting positive relationship.
A genuine desire to help and a commitment to the young people accessing the services are essential.
