Preston Volunteers have teamed up with Trauma Informed Lancashire to provide two Trauma Informed Training sessions in Preston on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 27th May.
The session will help participants gain a basic awareness of how trauma impacts individuals and an understanding of how to create a safe environment for those who have experienced trauma. Key points include: –
- To begin to understand the transformation to become Trauma Informed;
- To begin to explore how trauma affects our body, brain and behaviour;
- To be able to recognise how trauma may present in people we work alongside;
- To consider how a Trauma Informed Approach impacts on individuals and communities;
- Begin to think about changes we can make to our working practices, services, and organisations, etc.
Sessions will take place from 10am at Preston Town Hall.
