ROOTS Community do a Community Clean Up every Tuesday from 10am. They will meet up at the back of the Red Rose Offices so they can go to an area en masse, ready to target an area blighted by rubbish, fly tipping and overgrown vegetation.

This week, they came to the Boulevard Centre, the main office for Community CVS, part of the SPARK Collaborative, to help out with the overgrown weeds and bushes that border the railway station. It has been a while since anyone had attempted dealing with this so ROOTS help was gladly accepted and very much appreciated.

Nine members of ROOTS Community came down with their tools and equipment and worked hard all morning, with a little help given by Otis from Nightsafe along with Geoff and Miffy from Community CVS.

Lunch was provided for the volunteers and as it was a hot day, plenty of water for hydration was given out.

Steve Foden, Community CVS Building Manager and Project Lead for the SPARK Collaborative said:

“We would like to thank ROOTS Community for their efforts today. It highlights the importance of collaborative work and the many benefits of volunteering.”
