As a leading support organisation for the local voluntary and community sector in Blackburn with Darwen and Lancashire, Community CVS strongly condemns the violent disorder that has erupted over the past few days. We recognise that this violence stems from deep-seated issues of racism and xenophobia, and we denounce the harmful rhetoric that has fueled these abhorrent acts. Such actions do not reflect the values and efforts of the voluntary and community organisations we work with, nor the communities we support. Together, we stand committed to uniting communities, combating racism, and fostering positive futures.
We express our unwavering solidarity with the communities affected, particularly refugees, immigrants, and people of colour. We support the individuals and families who have become victims of hate, and we pledge our assistance to the local community groups and charities dedicated to improving lives and communities.
Our commitment is to continue working with our members across Blackburn with Darwen and Lancashire, offering sustained support to the communities impacted today and through long-term community rebuilding efforts.
