Would-be entrepreneurs who have just launched a start-up business or who are planning to do so in the near future are being urged to sign up to a start and grow business skills bootcamp to learn how to avoid some of the pitfalls that, according to research, cause 60% of all new UK businesses to fail in their first three years1.

The bootcamp, which takes the form of 10 masterclass sessions covering topics such as financial planning, legal structures, how to create a high impact social media marketing strategy and even how to get ahead with AI (Artificial Intelligence), are being offered by Community CVS from its accredited training centre at the Boulevard Centre, Blackburn.

Anyone who lives in Lancashire or whose business has or will have a county address is eligible to apply for the bootcamp, which has a total of 30 fully-funded learner places. The first 15 successful applicants will begin their bootcamp in September, followed by a second group of 15 in January next year.

Chris Trickett, Business Director for Community CVS, said:

“We are incredibly pleased to have secured the funding from Lancashire Skills & Employment Hub to enable us to offer business bootcamps.

“The sessions have all been created by chartered business advisors, experienced business owners and fellows of the Chartered Management Institute. These are people who you would normally have to pay a lot of money to per hour for their advice but which through the bootcamps, you’re accessing for free, including on a one-to-one basis at times.”

Chris added:

“It doesn’t matter what your business is. You could be a candle or cake maker, plumber or mechanic, portrait artist or doggy day carer. The bootcamps are a brilliant opportunity to give your business the best possible start and to prove that the usual start-up failure statistics don’t apply to you.”
