On Thursday 12th February, we held our AGM at Eanam Wharf Business Enterprise Centre. We were happy to welcome Cllr Phil Riley, Leader of BwD Borough Council as guest speaker who explained the importance of the Consultation Exercise on Local Government Reorganisation. Questions and answers informed the members when it came to voting on Community CVS’s position on devolution which emphasises the importance of having Pennine Lancashire as a separate entity.
Garth Hodgkinson, CEO of Community CVS said:
“Local Government and the VCFSE Sector are closely entwinned in working together for the benefit of the communities we serve. Having Cllr Phil Riley address our AGM reinforces that partnership.
“Community CVS has been formally invited by the Government to respond to proposals that will lead to the biggest change in Local Government since 1974. Our role in this is to let the Government know about our views of local residents and the VCFSE Sector on the options and the AGM will feed into our response.”

We would like as many as possible to take part in this consultation and local residents can express their opinions by taking part in this survey.
Community CVS feel that all voices are important and should be heard.
