In the coming months, Blackburn with Darwen Council is taking forward a range of activity to support those residents in the Borough who are digitally excluded.
As a first stage in that plan, over the next few weeks, council colleagues are finalising the production of a printed leaflet to signpost residents to, and raise awareness of, local digital support services and the types of support available to them, such as in-person support or workshops.
The leaflet will be divided up into themed areas around: –
- connectivity;
- devices;
- public access;
- skills and confidence; and
- cyber security.
There will be a full PR campaign to launch the leaflet following the general election fronted by key Councillors to promote widely the availability of this product and to encourage residents to actively engage with the support services available to them.
If your organisation runs a service in any of the themed areas, and you would like to be included in the leaflet, please contact miguel.nobrega@blackburn.gov.uk and christopher.hidden@blackburn.gov.uk with a short description of the service (no more than 50-60 words) and contact details or a web address for more information by close of business on Friday 28th June.
