“I wasn’t in that good a place so a friend suggested I joined a Drumming Circle in Manchester. I took to it immediately. The Social Aspect was something positive to look forward to.
Gary Ward of Sun Records in Darwen asked what was stopping me forming my own Drumming Circle in Darwen. Nothing was stopping me so I started that one in April and Gary let me use Sun Records for it but I wanted to start another for the Recovery Community because I knew that the positive impact it had on me would work for others as well.
We started at Café Hub in August with sessions happening every other Thursday evening. Everyone says their Mental and Physical Health has improved…..drumming is good cardio exercise but to do it with new friends in a safe environment is even better.”
