A free to join Lancashire business networking group that supports one-man-band companies and start-ups through to multi-million pound corporations has relaunched after a six month hiatus during which time, former members pressurised organisers to bring it back!
The Business & Skills Team at Community CVS, which is based at the Boulevard Centre in Railway Road, Blackburn, was contracted to run and host monthly meetings as part of their role as Boost Business Advisers until March this year.
Following the end of its get-togethers, former attendees petitioned the team to re-start the network, which has now happened with a group of 21 primarily East Lancashire business representatives attending the relaunch session under the network’s new name of the Community CVS Business Network.
Leah Harrison, who works as marketing officer and a trainer for the Community CVS’ Business & Skills Team, explained:
“What made the networking group so popular and led to the demand for its relaunch is the diversity of those who attended meetings.
“We had people who were just starting out in business and would come along out of curiosity or because they were looking for an accountant, had a legal query or something similarly simple to those who had been in business for 20 plus years and headed up companies that were turning over millions of pounds annually and were interested in government funding to help their businesses become greener, apprenticeship schemes and upskilling their workforces.”
Leah continued:
“Everyone felt supported and was able to get something from the sessions so we have now effectively brought them back and will be keeping them to the same format.”
Meetings of the Community CVS Business Network will now take place in the Boulevard Centre’s Conference Room on Fridays from 10am to 12 noon the first full week of each month. This means its next get-together will be on Friday 7th November followed by Friday 5th December, Friday 9th January and so on.
To attend, simply register either by telephoning 01254 503043 or emailing training@communitycvs.org.
The group is open to anyone with a business in Lancashire. The format includes news updates, presentations from group members on their companies with question and answer sessions to spark group discussions and refreshments.
