Do you have a few hours a week to spare? We’re looking for compassionate volunteers to support Asylum Seekers as they begin their journey into local volunteering.
As a Buddy, you’ll receive training to help individuals facing language barriers, cultural differences, or wellbeing challenges. You’ll be a companion, a guide, and a source of encouragement — making a real difference in someone’s life.
Your Role Includes:
- Providing conversation, companionship & translation support
- Assisting with volunteer placement & integration
- Offering feedback and submitting expenses
Essential Skills:
- Bilingual in English + Arabic / Kurdish / Pashto / Persian / Tigrinya
- Great listening & communication
- Compassionate & non-judgemental
- Respect for confidentiality
- Honest, dependable & flexible
- Passion for supporting people in challenging situations
