The second-ever Darwen Pride took place last weekend – and wow, what a day! With scorching weather, a brilliant crowd, and even more support from local partners, it was a colourful celebration of community, inclusion, and pride.
Community CVS’s own Geoff Wilkinson has been championing the event from the start. He shared:
“Last year we had a bit more funding, and this year we’ve had to be more self-sufficient—but we planned ahead and learnt from last time. Because of last year’s success, even more people got involved this year.”
He also gave a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers:
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of any event – especially Darwen Pride. They come from all across the community to help out. I’m so glad events like this can showcase the amazing diversity of our town.”
