CVS now has a pool of over 90 volunteers who from April to October 2015 gave over 23,500 hours voluntary support to Community CVS projects and other community groups. Community CVS values the contribution of our volunteers, indeed, they are an essential ingredient to our success. We rely on the contribution of all kinds of people to make our work a success: its paid staff, its members, Trustees and volunteers. It is this rich range of experience of people from the community that enables us to promote, develop and support voluntary and community action in the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen.

We do our best to ensure that all volunteers have a positive experience with us.

Volunteers are fully involved throughout the organisation including involvement at staff meetings and other organisational events. We provide induction and training, regular supervision and support, out of pocket expenses and opportunities for personal development and further training.

We currently have roles for volunteers in the following areas:

  • Events support
  • Advice and Information
  • Office and admin support
  • Recovery support
  • Befriending
  • Community Navigator
