COVID-19 – NWAS

At this challenging time we aim to keep you updated about the work of the trust much as much as we can in light of the current situation sharing information that may be useful to you and your group.

Stakeholder briefings

Please find attached our latest Covid-19 stakeholder briefing that you may find useful to read.

Help and support information

Here at NWAS we are aware that with the ongoing situation in relation to Covid-19 it is a difficult and unusual time with many people having to self-isolate at home and potentially facing challenges in accessing food and medical supplies.

We wanted to share with you useful information on how you, a family member, friend or close member of your community who are in need of help during the coronavirus pandemic can access support locally.

Please see below a list of links to local council webpages to access support during Covid-19 through them. We have also collated information available on the different ways you can access support in the different counties we cover (Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and Glossop in Derbyshire) into the attached document for ease of access.

National Lottery Community Fund

Local community groups can also apply for support from the National Lottery Community Fund. The National Lottery Community Fund helps to distribute money raised by players of the National Lottery to fund a wide range and projects and activities. They are currently prioritising their funding for organisations that are supporting people who are at high risk from COVID-19 and organisations supporting communities most likely to face increased demand and challenges because of COVID-19. Alongside its usual funding the National Lottery Community Fund is distributing £310m of government funding across the country, targeted at organisations responding to the COVID-19 emergency.

Voluntary organisations, social enterprises and community groups can find more information and details on how to apply for the National Lottery Community Fund on their website: https://www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk/

Useful animation

We know there has been a drop in the number of people attending hospital with serious health problems and seeing GPs, especially with suspected cancer. North Cumbria CCG have produced a short animation in relation to Covid-19 urging people to seek medical advice if they need too and when in an emergency – https://youtu.be/9NQifnYX1ng

Please be assured there are steps in place to ensure you won’t be put at risk, this includes phone and video consultations for your general practice concerns as well as non covid-19 areas at your local hospital. I encourage you to share this with your group members for reassurance.
