COVID-19 – a message from UCLan’s Community Action Forum

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. As you know we have developed a Community Action Forum working with Comensus, the Centre for Volunteering and Engage UCLan to create a networking space on campus for organisations to meet and share practice. We are due to have another meeting in June, however due to the current situation we have been looking at alternatives. We have decided that we are going to hold a series of online forum discussions over the course of a week. Each of the drop in discussions will be around an hour and held on an online format.

We are currently looking at what we should deliver and it would be great to hear from you about what you would like and if you would be interested in delivering. The aim is that these sessions will be delivered in various ways but there will be time for discussions and networking. Some of the ideas we have so far following the previous CAF meeting are:

1) Staying connected – a session to look at how to utilise different technologies to engage with people remotely.

2) Funding and bid writing

3) What next? Looking to the future and how to sustain all of our work after lockdown is over

4) Wellbeing – Staying well in the current climate

5) Promoting what we are all doing and creating a network of information.

Please let us know if you think these sessions would be useful, if you have some ideas of other sessions or if you would like to contribute to any of the above from what your organisations are doing.  If you could let us have this by the 11th May that would be great! Once we know we will contact you all with what we are doing and how to join in!!

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you all soon.

Thanks again

Stevie, Jen, Stephanie, Grete and Alissa
