Community Safety Support Officers x 2

Salary: £20,344 – £22,911 per annum

These posts are only available as a secondment and line manager approval must be sought in advance and written confirmation submitted with the application.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit 2 x Community Safety Support Officers to work across two distinct but complementary service areas. 

One post holder will work with the Anti-Social Behaviour and Enforcement Team and the other with the Prevent and Channel team to support meeting their statutory and safeguarding responsibilities to work with partners, oversee and coordinate business requirements, monitor expenditure and provide quarterly reports on budget profiles.

The Community Safety Support Officers:

  • Will act as first point of contact, taking details with regard to safeguarding / risk issues and use decision making processes to forward through for intervention /assessment / advice or direct through identified alternative pathways.
  • Facilitate meetings including operational and strategic boards, local and regional groups requiring liaison with partner and third sector agencies across the Lancashire footprint as well as support to the Channel Team working across Lancashire and Cumbria.
  • Provide high level support to the team, including answering day to day queries, collation of project monitoring and evaluation data, extraction of data for reports, preparation of statistics, information packs, research and collation of information in support of delivery.
  • Support the development and implementation of specific projects and initiatives against the wider community safety priorities which includes: Anti-sociable behaviour, Reducing Re-offending, Road Safety and Homelessness thematic areas.

Based within the Community Safety Team at the Town Hall, the successful candidate will fully understand and commit to the Council values and behaviours.

Although, the post holder will be based in Blackburn, this role will require frequent travel across Lancashire and to locations within the North West region and nationally hence a willingness and ability to travel is a must.

The post holder will be employed by BwDBC till 31st March 2020 (the role is subject to an annual review) and will be provided with specific training on how to deliver the tasks.
