Bootstrap Enterprises – Employment Advisor, Work and Health Programme (all East Lancashire)

Bootstrap is recruiting a FTE Employment Advisor to work with a caseload of jobseekers on the Work and Health Programme. This post will be based in one of their East Lancashire centres – Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley or Nelson. Part time applications will be considered.

Salary £20,456  to £21,745

Bootstrap Work and Health Programme Key Workers work with participants to find and sustain employment, engage with employers and make local agencies and communities aware of the benefits of their service.

Key to your success in this role is to demonstrate the ability to build rapport, show empathy, motivate people and influence their perception of working. Work focused conversations are essential.

What this role entails:

  • Having work focussed conversations with jobseekers, identifying any challenges and barriers with finding employment
  • Assisting participants apply for jobs at every appointment
  • Booking jobseekers to any relevant training courses including customer service, security, hospitality, personal development, IT literacy and many others
  • Supporting jobseekers with CV writing and job application process
  • Identifying those ready to move into work and connecting them with Bootstrap’s Employer Engagement Team who liaise with employers to identify any employment opportunities for Bootstrap job seekers.

Required skills and experience:

  • Able to demonstrate coaching/mentoring experience and persuasion/influencing skills through previous work or social activities
  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment
  • Experience of working in a performance target driven environment
  • Willingness to travel locally
  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) or achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy
  • Experience of exposure to various customer groups
  • Previous experience of a working in a similar role in Welfare to Work or publicly funded services
  • Any relevant advisory and/or training qualification e.g. NVQ Advice & Guidance or equivalent at minimum level 3. Award in Education & Training (formally PTLLs Level 3)
